# Virals: Liverpool confirm Sheyi Ojo loan departure

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/31/virals-chelsea-set-to-sign-heavily-linked-liverpool-target-saul-niguez/) have confirmed the loan departure of winger [Sheyi Ojo](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/31/virals-liverpool-in-talks-with-two-clubs-over-sheyi-ojo-loan-deal/) to Championship side Millwall.

The 24-year-old joins the Lions for the entire 2021/22 campaign as manager Gary Rowett hopes to steer the London club up the [table](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table).

This move is Ojo’s [seventh loan spell](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheyi-ojo/transfers/spieler/236510) away from Anfield in a 10-year spell with the Reds.

The completion of the season-long switch was confirmed by the [club’s official website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/442365-sheyi-ojo-completes-loan-move-to-millwall) and [Twitter](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1432821968554840064) late on transfer deadline day.

[Capped once](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheyi-ojo/nationalmannschaft/spieler/236510/verein_id/9565) at Under 21 level by England, Ojo has previously enjoyed spells with Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, Reims, and Rangers.

Most recently the London-born ace [scored five and assisted another seven goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheyi-ojo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/236510/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB2/verein/603) on loan at Cardiff City in the second-tier.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £2.7million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheyi-ojo/marktwertverlauf/spieler/236510)), Liverpool must surely be hoping another successful temporary move can lead to a permanent transfer.

Ultimately it would seem the opportunity to break into the first-team under Jurgen Klopp has been and gone following a [short run of games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheyi-ojo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/236510/verein/31) in 2015/16.

Once a highly regarded winger, Ojo needs to resurrect a [floundering career](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheyi-ojo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/236510) and will hope to do so sooner rather than later.
