# Virals: Liverpool consider ‘late swoop’ for Mikkel Damsgaard

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/31/virals-divock-origi-wants-to-leave-liverpool-on-deadline-day/) are reportedly considering a ‘late swoop’ for Sampdoria winger [Mikkel Damsgaard](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/29/virals-liverpool-eligible-candidates-for-late-mikkel-damsgaard-swoop/).

The Reds have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old Dane this summer alongside [interest](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-transfer-damsgaard-gaich-obrien-24705024) from Leeds United, Tottenham and Juventus more recently.

Despite the unlikely star of the summer’s European Championships [joining up with the senior national side](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1432465135868825600) for upcoming World Cup qualifier action, there could still be time for a move.

That’s according to a report from [Tuttomercatoweb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/juventus/?action=read&idtmw=1577426) (via [JuveFC](https://www.juvefc.com/liverpool-considers-late-swoop-for-juventus-target/)), as cited on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/JuveFCcom/status/1432414337164009474), claiming Liverpool are still in the frame.

The report states that the Anfield club have been ‘watching’ the [eight-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mikkel-damsgaard/nationalmannschaft/spieler/540941/verein_id/3436) ace and could be preparing to ‘test the resolve’ of the Serie A side.

Damsgaard has made [three appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mikkel-damsgaard/leistungsdaten/spieler/540941) already this term in Italy, backing up [six-goal contributions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mikkel-damsgaard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/540941/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/IT1/verein/1038) in 35 league outings last season.
