# Virals: Liverpool ‘considering a move’ for Real Madrid outcast Luka Jovic

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/01/virals-liverpool-interested-in-sporting-cp-star-pedro-goncalves/) are reportedly ‘considering a move’ for Real Madrid outcast [Luka Jovic](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/23/virals-west-ham-interested-in-real-madrid-striker-luka-jovic/).

Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp is believed to be [weighing up alternative options](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/every-player-liverpool-transfer-rumours-21433837) in the attacking department to bolster the Anfield ranks.

Jovic was signed by Los Blancos for an eye-watering £52.4million in 2019 ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12691/11734671/real-madrid-sign-luka-jovic-from-eintracht-frankfurt)) but has since struggled to recapture the form he showed at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Now, according to a report from Spanish outlet [*Fichajes*](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/fichajes-liverpool-harvey-barnes-elegido-klopp-20211030.html)*,* as cited by [Transfer News Central](https://twitter.com/TransferNewsCen) on Twitter, Liverpool are keeping tabs on the Serb.

The report claims that Klopp is eyeing up a different type of operator in attack and the [18-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/257462/verein_id/3438) Serbia international could fit the bill as soon as January.

Since arriving in the Spanish capital, Jovic has [scored just twice](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/257462) in 38 appearances and was loaned back to Frankfurt for the 2020/21 campaign.

So far this season the 23-year-old, previously hailed as a [‘magical player’](https://www.sportbible.com/football/top-10s-news-lionel-messi-reveals-his-top-15-young-prospects-in-football-20200904) by Lionel Messi, has played just [60 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/leistungsdaten/spieler/257462) in La Liga.

Signing additional [attacking options](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) should be at the forefront of Klopp’s mind when it comes to possible January additions.

Liverpool are [set to lose Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpools-afcon-truth-how-many-20827657) to the African Cup of Nations and will have to guard against a dip in output as a result.

Although the [£18million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/257462) Jovic has endured a difficult spell in Spain, there remains a talented player who netted [17 Bundesliga goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/257462/plus/0/saison/2018/wettbewerb/L1/verein/24) in the 2018/19 season.

Perhaps more of a [predatory frontman](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/315755/Show/Luka-Jovic) than the likes of Roberto Firmino, at the right price, or even on loan, Jovic would provide a worthwhile option to Klopp.
