# Virals: Liverpool ‘contemplate’ January move for Karim Adeyemi

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/10/virals-liverpool-keen-on-fleetwood-town-defender-james-hill/) are believed to be considering a mid-season move for Red Bull Salzburg forward [Karim Adeyemi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/07/virals-footage-of-liverpool-target-karim-adeyemi-hits-social-media/).

The Reds were recently linked with the 19-year-old sensation as Jurgen Klopp looks to the future of the [attacking options](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) in the squad.

Adeyemi has enjoyed a [rapid rise to prominence](https://www.sofascore.com/player/karim-adeyemi/940054) in Austria over the last 18 months and has attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Merseyside.

According to a report from [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.us/karim-adeyemi-barca-and-liverpool-contemplate-winter-offer-scored-on-dfb-debut/view/news/392659), as cited by [Manuel Veth](https://twitter.com/ManuelVeth/status/1436000742733586441) on Twitter, Liverpool could strike first when the market reopens in January.

The report claims that Salzburg will look for a fee in the region of €30million (£25.6million) for their [goalscoring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-adeyemi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/496094/verein_id/3262) German international.

Last season the talented teenager scored [seven times and registered nine assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-adeyemi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/496094/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/A1/verein/409) in 29 Austrian Bundesliga outings.

Salzburg have become [accustomed to losing their prized assets](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/red-bull-salzburg/rekordabgaenge/verein/409) in recent years, as the sales of Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino will attest to.

Valued at £18million and under contract until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-adeyemi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/496094)), Adeyemi could be the next to follow suit should the Anfield club pay the mooted fee.

Albeit predominantly a centre-forward, Adeyemi is capable of [playing across the front three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-adeyemi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/496094) and would as such provide cover for the entirety of Klopp’s frontline.

As the season hots up in January and beyond, should Liverpool remain in the title race and [UEFA Champions League](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2021-22/men/fixtures-and-results) contention, this move would make perfect sense.
