# Virals: Liverpool ‘definitely interested’ in Kingsley Coman

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/27/virals-liverpool-winger-xherdan-shaqiri-close-to-lazio-switch/) have been linked with a sensational swoop for Bayern Munich winger [Kingsley Coman](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/26/virals-liverpool-hold-great-interest-in-kingsley-coman/) this summer.

The Reds are expected to pursue additional attacking options after Jurgen Klopp’s side became [heavily reliant](https://www.liverpool.com/liverpool-fc-news/features/liverpool-reliant-mohamed-salah-problem-20302443) on Mohamed Salah’s goal contributions last term.

Previous [reports](https://www.beinsports.com/france/mercato/news/mercato-liverpool-a-fait-une-offre-pour-coman/1709523) have already claimed the Anfield club had already submitted a £30million bid for the 25-year-old Frenchman, albeit someway off the £42million asking price.

Now, chief reporter German outlet [Sport1](https://twitter.com/SPORT1), [Florian Plettenberg](https://twitter.com/Plettigoal/status/1409130641732612099), has taken to Twitter to update the situation.

> Twitter: Update #Coman: Yes, #LFC is definitely interested in signing him and they are in contact with his management. But r… https://t.co/h3ZZaG5BA9 (@Plettigoal)

Coman made a first outing at Euro 2020 last week, coming off the bench in a [2-2 draw](https://www.sofascore.com/player/kingsley-coman/280441) against Diogo Jota’s Portugal.

During 2020/21, the flying winger once [hailed](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7km5ci) as ‘exceptional’ by teammate Corentin Tolisso, [scored eight and registered another 15 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/leistungsdaten/spieler/243714) in 39 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at an eye-watering £58.8million and under contract in Bavaria until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/marktwertverlauf/spieler/243714)), even shelling out the mooted £42million demands would be somewhat of a bargain deal.

Perhaps the main concern for the Reds will stem from what is a [worrying injury history](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/verletzungen/spieler/243714), particularly during the [31-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/nationalmannschaft/spieler/243714/verein_id/3377) ace’s early career.

Whilst the majority of more recent problems have been minor, Klopp [knows all about](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-injury-crisis-excuse-more-19768465) having a host of star names unavailable.

Predominantly a left-winger, capable of [playing wide right and centrally](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/243714), Coman would provide high-quality cover across the frontline – a factor that could sway the pursuit to become more active.
