# Virals: Liverpool discover £50.1m price tag on Aurelien Tchouameni

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/14/virals-liverpool-preparing-new-82m-mohamed-salah-contract-offer/) have reportedly discovered a lofty £50.1million asking price required to sign AS Monaco midfielder [Aurelien Tchouameni](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/12/virals-liverpool-follow-monaco-midfielder-aurelien-tchouameni/).

The Reds were recently credited with [holding an interest](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/news/calcio/talent-scout/2021/08/07-84307482/tchouameni_la_juve_si_muove_il_monaco_chiede_30_milioni) in the 21-year-old alongside Manchester United, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Tchouameni established himself as a [regular](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/413112) for the Ligue 1 side last season and has since broken into Didier Deschamps’ national team plans.

According to Spanish newspaper [Marca](https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2021/10/12/61656561268e3ecf298b4626.html/?tag=exp098-20), as cited by [Anfield Agenda](https://twitter.com/AnfieldAgenda) on Twitter, Monaco will demand a premium fee for the Frenchman.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Predominantly a defensive-minded operator, the French ace was described by Cesc Fabregas as being a player with [‘potential to be a complete midfielder’](https://sydneynewstoday.com/the-rise-of-aurelien-tchoameni-a-midfielder-in-monaco-and-france-france/383325/) – perhaps importantly given the prowess of current incumbent Fabinho.

Despite a reluctance to replace Gini Wijnaldum, [recent injuries](https://talksport.com/sport/football-sport/936622/liverpool-injury-news-thiago-alcantara-naby-keita-harvey-elliott-porto-champions-league/) might’ve forced Jurgen Klopp to reconsider the midfield options.

Valued at £31.5million and under contract in France until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/marktwertverlauf/spieler/413112)), the mooted asking price for a player with a sky-high ceiling is relatively reasonable.

Having [ended the last transfer window](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/transfers/verein/31) in profit, finding funds for such deals should be no issue.
