# Virals: Liverpool ‘eyeing a move’ for Valencia winger Gonçalo Guedes

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/05/virals-liverpool-target-dusan-vlahovic-rejects-fiorentina-contract-offer/) are reportedly ‘eyeing a move’ for Valencia winger [Gonçalo Guedes](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2018/06/13/psg-likely-to-sell-liverpool-target-goncalo-guedes/).

The Reds refrained from making an attacking addition during the summer as only centre-back [Ibrahima Konate arrived](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/435628-liverpool-agree-deal-to-sign-ibrahima-konate-from-rb-leipzig) to bolster the first-team squad.

Guedes has been catching the eye in the early weeks of the 2021/22 [La Liga](https://www.skysports.com/la-liga-table) campaign and it would appear officials at Anfield have taken notice.

According to a report from [Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/premier-league-llama-puerta-goncalo-guedes-20211002.html), as cited by [Liverpool FC News](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC) on Twitter, Liverpool are in admiration of the 24-year-old’s talents.

This season Guedes has scored twice and provided two assists in eight appearances – earning a magnificent [7.31 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/goncalo-guedes/280979) – higher than that [achieved](https://www.sofascore.com/player/sadio-mane/217704) by Liverpool star Sadio Mane.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Signing attacking reinforcements has to be part of the next stage in developing Jurgen Klopp’s [squad](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team).

Now suitably equipped in the defensive department, adding [fresh talent to the frontline](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-sign-forward-next-generation-21324903) should be the next priority.

Capable of [playing on either](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/goncalo-guedes/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/225122) wing and centrally, Guedes has a first-class senior record across spells with Benfica and Paris Saint-Germain before arriving in Spain.

Already a serial trophy winner, landing the [£22.5million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/goncalo-guedes/marktwertverlauf/spieler/225122) ace before the end of a 2023 contract looks to be a worthwhile and imminently possible prospect.
