# Virals: Liverpool fans delighted as ‘great’ transfer news emerges

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/29/virals-liverpool-have-held-talks-to-sign-monaco-ace-aurelien-tchouameni/) fans have so far been treated to one late January treat with the signing of FC Porto winger [Luis Diaz](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/29/pundit-backs-liverpool-for-ucl-glory-following-massive-transfer/).

The 25-year-old [arrived on a five-year deal](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60180371) and looks readymade to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s attacking options.

However, the business may not be finished there as [reports emerged](https://twitter.com/ptgorst/status/1487798221212721161) linking the Reds with a last-minute swoop for highly-rated Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho.

Albeit much of the [speculation](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1487856542502338563) has suggested the 19-year-old will be sent back to the Championship table-toppers following a £5million switch, Liverpool fans are overjoyed nevertheless.

Meanwhile, reliable journalist [James Pearce](https://twitter.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/1487883440171196428) was even revelling in the moment as he teased fans with another Monday capture…

> No, that wasn’t true! Thankfully, think only you noticed 😉. Monday morning was initial plan. Doing it today instead suggests there could be another tomorrow….

This season Carvalho has [scored seven times and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263) in 18 league appearances for Fulham.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £3.15million and out of contract at Craven Cottage at the end of the season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/marktwertverlauf/spieler/559263)), signing the England youth starlet for a bargain fee always seemed on the cards.

However, albeit with the caveat of compensation, Liverpool could feasibly [sign the attacking midfielder for free](https://theathletic.com/news/liverpool-working-on-deal-for-fulhams-fabio-carvalho/TxJxUXZiXOUY/) in the summer and therefore it would make little sense to loan him back for the remainder of this term.

Having dealt with Fulham in the recent past in [deals for Harry Wilson](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11681/12363317/harry-wilson-fulham-sign-liverpool-winger-for-12m-on-long-term-contract-until-2026) and Harvey Elliott, no doubt all parties will come to a resolution that suits everyone.
