# Virals: Liverpool fans react as ‘king’ Nat Phillips joins EFL club

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/31/virals-liverpool-still-pushing-to-sign-fulham-ace-fabio-carvalho/) have officially confirmed the departure of central defender [Nat Phillips](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/31/virals-efl-club-looking-to-sign-liverpool-defender-nat-phillips/) on a temporary loan move to AFC Bournemouth.

The 24-year-old has joined the [Championship promotion chasers](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table) until the end of the season and looks sure to play a huge part in any push to return to the Premier League.

Described as playing an [‘instrumental’](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/nat-phillips-joins-bournemouth-loan) role in the Reds reaching the UEFA Champions League, Phillips has already forged a special bond with an adoring Anfield fanbase.

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1488180419350704135) in the wake of the move, Liverpool fans were quick to wish the English defender well for the remainder of the campaign.

Prior to the switch, Phillips had made [four appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathaniel-phillips/leistungsdaten/spieler/371814) for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Allowing the [£7.2million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathaniel-phillips/marktwertverlauf/spieler/371814) ace to leave on loan may suggest either a lack of suitors willing to meet the asking price or a long-term future on Merseyside.

Now [experienced](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathaniel-phillips/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/371814) at the Premier League level, the no-nonsense Bolton-born defender will no doubt be a huge boost to Bournemouth’s promotion chances.

Good luck, Nat.
