# Virals: Liverpool fans react as ‘race’ is on to secure Fabio Carvalho move

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/31/andy-brassell-says-liverpool-signing-luis-diaz-was-ready-for-big-move/) have reportedly ‘reached an agreement’ to sign Fulham starlet [Fabio Carvalho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/31/virals-liverpool-still-pushing-to-sign-fulham-ace-fabio-carvalho/) following a day of negotiations.

The Reds are believed to be [willing to loan](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-carvalho-transfer-news-live-22926057) the 19-year-old back to the Championship table toppers for the remainder of the season as part of the deal.

However, with just [minutes remaining](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/60140816) in the January 2022 transfer window, there is a race against time to secure the move outright.

Regardless of the time constraints, many delighted Kopites were overjoyed on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/_pauljoyce/status/1488268016496553984) as the attacking midfielder took one significant leap towards becoming a Liverpool player.

Holding a perceived market value of £3.15million and out of contract in a matter of months ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/marktwertverlauf/spieler/559263)), this is an extraordinary shrewd deal from the club.

Albeit available for free in the summer, due to rules on signing youngster’s the Reds would’ve been [expected to pay a compensation fee](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9248953/Liverpool-pay-RECORD-4m-compensation-fee-16-year-old-Harvey-Elliotts-Fulham-move.html) and may have faced competition for the signature.

If the deal can get finalised tonight then Liverpool have signed an [exceptional talent](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/401385/Show/Fabio-Carvalho) whilst bypassing the need for tribunals and bidding wars.
