# Virals: Liverpool ‘follow’ Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/12/virals-trio-of-international-liverpool-stars-thrive-again/) have been named among the clubs in pursuit of AS Monaco midfielder [Aurelien Tchouameni](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/09/liverpool-interested-in-tchouameni/).

The Reds are reportedly interested in the 21-year-old alongside Juventus and [Premier League rivals](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) Chelsea.

Tchouameni has been attracting strong attention from around Europe following a [host of impressive performances](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aurelien-tchouameni/859025) for both club and country.

According to a report from [Tuttosport](https://www.tuttosport.com/), as cited by [Monascope7](https://twitter.com/monascope7) on Twitter, Liverpool are among the clubs that will ‘follow’ the French international.

So far this season Tchouameni, who was described as [‘extraordinary’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9975843/Paul-Pogba-heaps-praise-extraordinary-Mancheser-United-target-Aurelien-Tchouameni.html) by Paul Pogba, has [scored twice in 15 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/leistungsdaten/spieler/413112) across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Signing a talented [midfield option](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) to replace Gini Wijnaldum remains a distinct possibility at Anfield.

Albeit Jurgen Klopp was insistent that the likes of Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Naby Keita could fill the Wijnaldum void, recent [injuries to all three](https://www.dailyadvent.com/gb/news/2729b9782a416c091b5901f96cf628ee-Thiago-Elliott-and-Keita-injuries-have-served-Curtis-Jones-his-chance-to-impress-on-a-platter-and-after-two-dazzling-displays-hes-shown-Jurgen-Klopp-that-Liverpools-third-midfield-spot-is-his-t) would suggest an addition may still be necessary.

With an ageing [Jordan Henderson, Thiago and James Milner](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jordan-henderson-james-milner-liverpool-21041522) in situ, Tchouameni could be part of the new regime at Anfield.

Valued at £31.5million and under contract in France until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/marktwertverlauf/spieler/413112)), the mooted €45million (£38.2million) is highly reasonable.
