# Virals: Liverpool forward Divock Origi attracting interest from RC Lens

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/21/tony-cascarino-tips-roberto-firmino-to-depart-liverpool-first/) forward [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/17/paul-robinson-predicts-january-transfer-for-divock-origi/) is reportedly attracting interest from French Ligue 1 side RC Lens.

The 26-year-old has been very much on the periphery of matters this season but was handed a rare opportunity to fight for a spot in Jurgen Klopp’s plans with a [start against AC Milan](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/443409-team-news-confirmed-liverpool-line-up-ac-milan-champions-league) last week.

However, having been [left out](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdaten/spieler/148368) of three Premier League matchday squads, the Belgian’s future on Merseyside remain highly uncertain.

According to a report from Italian outlet [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/liverpool-origi-puo-finire-in-ligue-1-40013), as cited by [Anfield Edition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1440016374097747979) on Twitter, a return to France could be on the cards.

The report claims that the side currently [sitting in third](https://www.skysports.com/ligue-1-table) in the French top-flight are ‘ready to fight’ for the former Lille striker.

Recently, Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp [admitted](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12408919/jurgen-klopp-surprised-at-lack-of-summer-interest-in-divock-origi-obviously-people-dont-watch-football-enough) that he was surprised at the lack of summer interest in the ‘sensational’ Belgian international.

Last season Origi managed just [one goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368) in 17 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £10.8million and under contract until June 2022 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368)), Liverpool certainly have a decision to make over their cult hero.

Often the man for the [big occasion](https://talksport.com/football/623953/liverpool-divock-origi-merseyside-derbies-forgotten-man-cult-hero/) in the past, there can be no argument that the ace’s impact has dwindled dramatically in recent times.

Therefore, cashing in as soon as January, perhaps in order to fund a move elsewhere for [heavily linked Karim Adeyemi](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/443682-karim-adeyemi-makes-transfer-admission-after-liverpool-rumours) would be the most sensible option for the club to take.
