# Virals: Liverpool dealt blow in pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/02/virals-jude-bellingham-causes-twitter-stir-in-response-to-strong-links/) have reportedly been dealt a blow in their potential pursuit of Fiorentina striker [Dusan Vlahovic](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/21/virals-liverpool-have-clear-advantage-in-pursuit-of-dusan-vlahovic/).

The Reds are one of a number of clubs [linked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/dusan-vlahovic-goals-liverpool-fans-21141872) with a move for the 21-year-old Serbian ace but could now be gazumped.

According to a report from [Tuttosport](https://www.tuttosport.com/news/calcio/serie-a/juventus/2021/11/01-86731573/juve_vlahovic_o_witsel_ma_chi_parte_), Serie A giants Juventus have shown an interest and Vlahovic would be keen on the switch.

This comes following a [Tweet](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1454866795786031107?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1454866795786031107%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.empireofthekop.com%2F2021%2F11%2F02%2Fromano-issues-update-on-25-goal-striker-heavily-linked-with-liverpool-that-will-set-interested-clubs-on-alert%2F) from reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano citing the Serb’s contractual dilemma as well as his stellar form.

> Dušan Vlahović \[21 years old\] with an hattrick today. 8 goals in 11 Serie A games this season – it’s 25 goals in 34 games in 2021. 🌪🇷🇸\

Last season the powerful frontman was in sensational form, scoring [21 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dusan-vlahovic/leistungsdaten/spieler/357498/plus/0?saison=2020) in 37 league outings.

So far this term Vlahovic has continued that imperious record by netting [10 times in 12 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dusan-vlahovic/leistungsdaten/spieler/357498/plus/0?saison=2021) across all competitions.

Prizing the [12-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dusan-vlahovic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357498/verein_id/3438) Serbian international always seemed a daunting task for the Reds – even more so now.

Often Italian clubs have [sold to the giants of the nation](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/101rbm/why_do_players_move_between_the_top_italian_clubs/) in order to maintain good relations and unfortunately, this could be the case once again here.

Capable of operating in a [similar system](https://formation-y.com/en/formation/fiorentina.html) to how Jurgen Klopp deploys his side, Vlahovic would bring a whole new threat to the attacking ranks at Anfield.

Valued at £45million and under contract in Florence until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dusan-vlahovic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/357498)), it’s believed Fiorentina will [demand a fee](https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Inter/20-09-2021/fiorentina-inter-vlahovic-contro-lautaro-4201337496636.shtml) in the region of £70million for their prized asset – a fee Liverpool should jump at.
