# Virals: Liverpool have ‘agreement in principle’ to sign Fabio Carvalho

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/28/virals-liverpool-target-marco-asensio-handed-contract-ultimatum/) have reportedly reached an ‘agreement in principle’ to sign Fulham starlet [Fabio Carvalho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/21/virals-liverpool-face-fresh-competition-from-epl-rivals-for-fabio-carvalho/).

The Reds were on the [verge](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-fabio-carvalho-transfer-fulham-26102611) of bringing the 19-year-old to Anfield during the January transfer window before the transfer deadline halted any progress.

Now it would appear that a deal for the [exciting youngster](https://www.sofascore.com/player/fabio-carvalho/991604) remains on the cards and a switch to Merseyside is a mere formality.

That’s according to a report from [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool/), as cited by [ThinkLFCTV](https://twitter.com/ThinkLFCTV/status/1508403265544859653) on Twitter.

So far this season Carvalho – who was [hailed](https://www.westlondonsport.com/fulham/silva-hails-fantastic-carvalho-after-fulham-see-off-millwall) as ‘fantastic’ by Marco Silva – has scored [seven times and registered six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263) in 27 Championship outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £3.15million and out of contract at the end of this season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/marktwertverlauf/spieler/559263)), both clubs are said to be keen to avoid a tribunal to decipher the compensation fee.

Instead, the Reds may again be willing to [shell out £8million](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/4584171/liverpool-hopeful-of-signing-fulhams-fabio-carvalho-in-8m-deal-sources) for the talented attacking midfielder.

Predominantly operating in [advanced central positions](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/401385/Show/Fabio-Carvalho), Carvalho would add w whole new dimension to the midfield ranks at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal and may well spell the end of the road for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on Merseyside.
