# Virals: Liverpool have ‘contacted’ representatives of Ousmane Dembele

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/10/virals-liverpool-reportedly-considering-making-move-for-alexander-isak/) have reportedly ‘contacted’ the representatives of Barcelona winger [Ousmane Dembele](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/12/virals-liverpool-receive-agent-contact-regarding-ousmane-dembele/).

The 24-year-old is [out of contract at the end of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/profil/spieler/288230) and is yet to agree to extend his stay at the Catalan giants.

However, returning club legend Xavi has [called](https://www.goal.com/en/news/dembele-best-in-world-his-position-xavi-contract-barcelona/blt4f1719aa240c0496) for Barcelona to tie down the Frenchman who could become the ‘best in world in his position’.

According to a report from [Todofichajes](https://todofichajes.com/el-liverpool-se-entromete-en-la-renovacion-ousmane-dembele/), as cited on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/TDfichajes/status/1458059853600108549), the Reds and Newcastle United are both waiting for a decision.

The report claims that Liverpool have informed the [27-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/nationalmannschaft/spieler/288230/verein_id/3377) World Cup winner they are keen and a decision is expected in a ‘matter of months’.

This season Dembele has been plagued by injury and has only played [25 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/leistungsdaten/spieler/288230) of competitive football as a result.

Unfortunately, the once [£135.5million superstar](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41075084) has been hit by injury all too often since arriving in Spain from Borussia Dortmund.

Already boasting a trophy-laden career with [plenty of goals and assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/288230) when fit, Dembele certainly possesses the skillset to play for any top side in the world.

Capable of playing across the frontline, Jurgen Klopp would [benefit greatly](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/299513/Show/Ousmane-Demb%C3%A9l%C3%A9) from the Frenchman’s addition at Anfield and should remain alert to the situation.

Valued at £45million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/marktwertverlauf/spieler/288230)), despite the injury woes Liverpool would still be landing a top-quality player capable of supporting Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah for nothing next summer.
