# Virals: Liverpool have ‘held talks’ to sign Monaco ace Aurelien Tchouameni

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/29/virals-liverpool-fans-relish-links-to-perfect-roberto-firmino-understudy/) have reportedly ‘held talks’ regarding a possible move for AS Monaco star [Aurelien Tchouameni](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/07/virals-as-monaco-starlet-aurelien-tchouameni-a-candidate-for-liverpool/).

The talented 22-year-old is believed to be on the radar of numerous clubs across Europe having [flourished in Ligue 1](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/413112) in recent years.

Already a fully-fledged senior French international, Tchouameni looks to have a [promising future](https://www.teamtalk.com/chelsea/aurelien-tchouameni-rare-transfer-man-utd-target-lead-tuchel-evolution) at the very highest level.

According to a report from [RMC Sport](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/transferts/mercato-c-est-combien-tchouameni-qui-interesse-le-real-et-d-autres-cadors-europeens_AV-202201280416.html), as cited by [The Anfield Talk](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldTalk/status/1487222934754283520) on Twitter, the Reds are in contention to sign the defensive midfielder.

The report claims that a summer departure for the [seven-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/nationalmannschaft/spieler/413112/verein_id/3377) ace ‘seems inevitable’ as Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus all show an interest.

This season the man described as [‘extraordinary’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9975843/Paul-Pogba-heaps-praise-extraordinary-Manchester-United-target-Aurelien-Tchouameni.html) by Paul Pogba has earned an impressive [7.36 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aurelien-tchouameni/859025) from 21 league outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £36million and under contract in France until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/marktwertverlauf/spieler/413112)), signing Tchouameni would likely be an expensive venture for any interested party.

However, at just 22 and boasting a range of [impressive attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/353423/Show/Aur%C3%A9lien-Tchouam%C3%A9ni) required to be a top-level defensive midfielder, the young Frenchman would be a worthwhile investment.

Acquiring [adequate cover](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) for Fabinho is a priority for Jurgen Klopp moving forwards and the former Bordeaux ace could be the ideal candidate.
