# Virals: Liverpool hit with huge asking price for Kingsley Coman

Numerous reports have emerged in the last week linking [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/28/virals-southampton-in-regular-contact-over-takumi-minamino-transfer/) with what would be a sensational swoop for Bayern Munich winger [Kingsley Coman](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/29/virals-twitter-poll-gives-verdict-on-ideal-winger-signing-this-summer/).

The Reds are believed to be keen on the Frenchman and according to [La Gazzetta dello Sport](https://www.football365.com/news/liverpool-short-bayern-valuation-opening-coman-transfer-bid)had already made an opening bid of €35million (£30million).

Further information emerged from [Sport1](https://twitter.com/Plettigoal/status/1409130641732612099?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1409130641732612099%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.football365.com%2Fnews%2Freport-rejects-rumours-liverpool-transfer-bayern-munich-coman) and it seemed as though interest from the Anfield club was indeed genuine.

However, a fresh report from [Sky Germany](https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artikel/fc-bayern-transfer-news-wechsel-von-kingsley-coman-unwahrscheinlich/12344247/34942?), as cited by [Max Bielefeld](https://twitter.com/Sky_MaxB/status/1409518098600935429) on Twitter has claimed that the previously mooted asking price is way off the mark.

The report states that the [Bundesliga champions](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57038735) have ‘no intention’ of allowing the 24-year-old to leave the Allianz Arena this summer.

Coman was part of the France side that were [eliminated from Euro 2020](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57647313) by Switzerland on penalties, albeit the ace was forced off injured during extra time.

The [31-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/nationalmannschaft/spieler/243714/verein_id/3377) Frenchman contributed [eight goals and 15 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/leistungsdaten/spieler/243714) in 39 appearances last season and [netted the winner](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/0260-1033c96091a1-3d127374ef80-1000/) in the 2019/20 Champions League final.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £58.8million and under contract in Munich until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kingsley-coman/marktwertverlauf/spieler/243714)), signing Coman for less than £50million always seemed farfetched.

Given the newly reported demands, any interest that might’ve been forthcoming will almost certainly fall by the wayside.

Without sanctioning the [major sale](https://www.givemesport.com/1658656-liverpool-expected-to-cash-in-on-mohamed-salah-or-sadio-mane-says-journalist) of Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah, Liverpool aren’t going to be signing a player in the region of £100million.

Instead, a high-quality backup for those players is required.
