# Virals: Liverpool identify ‘potential replacement’ for Divock Origi

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/10/liverpool-fans-laud-unreal-kaide-gordon-performance-on-social-media/) had reportedly identified West Ham forward [Jarrod Bowen](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/09/james-pearce-reiterates-liverpool-interest-in-outstanding-jarrod-bowen/) as a ‘potential replacement’ for Divock Origi.

The 26 year old Belgian has been [heavily linked](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/origi-transfer-liverpool-legend-quadruple-25875977?_ga=2.29825722.407821731.1641796965-821466641.1594277329) with a move away from Anfield in recent weeks but may now remain until the end of the season.

Had a move materialised, the Reds are believed to have made plans to pursue a deal for the [long-term target](https://twitter.com/WestHamViews_/status/1477623681996230656) Bowen.

> Liverpool are continuing to track West Ham star Jarrod Bowen ahead of a potential move this month.
>
> West Ham are going to be very reluctant to sell the 25 year old at all and it could take bids worth around £60m to tempt the Hammers.

That’s according to a report from the [Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1547085/Liverpool-news-Divock-Origi-transfer-plan-Jarrod-Bowen), claiming that Liverpool have the Englishman on their radar.

The report states that the club had ‘lined up’ the 25-year-old [former Hull City](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/314875) star.

This season Bowen has [scored six times and registered a further 10 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdaten/spieler/314875) in 26 appearances across all competitions – earning a [7.05 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jarrod-bowen/552884) from 20 Premier League outings in the process.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £31.5million and under contract in East London until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/marktwertverlauf/spieler/314875)), signing the Englishman for a mooted £50million asking price would remain a shrewd deal.

Albeit relatively [unproven at the top level](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/314875) until recently, Bowen has taken to life amongst the elite with ease and would appear to be improving all the time.

A hardworking, versatile operator with an abundance of [quality attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/322596/Show/Jarrod-Bowen), it’s no surprise that Jurgen Klopp has already admitted a [fondness](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/i-like-lot-jurgen-klopp-22079579) for the ace.

With the German now [confirming](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jurgen-klopp-admits-liverpool-desperately-22694446) the squad needs its forward options ‘desperately’ in the wake of the FA Cup third-round clash, a surprise swoop for Bowen could still be on the January agenda.
