# Virals: Liverpool interest in Yves Bissouma known to Brighton officials

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/04/30/jamie-ohara-admits-attempts-to-wind-up-steven-gerrard-backfired/) could be about to step up their interest in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder [Yves Bissouma](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/04/14/carragher-reds-target-bissouma/) according to a report from [Sunday World](https://www.sundayworld.com/sport/soccer/liverpool-eyeing-up-a-move-for-premier-league-star-as-two-midfielders-are-set-to-leave-40374388.html).

As cited by Twitter account [The Anfield Talk](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldTalk/status/1388127819461505024), the Reds’ interest in the Mali international has become known to officials on the South Coast and a £35million deal is believed to be under discussion.

Jurgen Klopp could be in the market for at least one central midfielder this summer as [Gini Wijnaldum’s future at Anfield](https://talksport.com/football/852926/liverpool-transfer-news-georginio-wijnaldum-contract-barcelona/) beyond the end of this season looks increasingly doubtful.

The original [report](https://www.sundayworld.com/sport/soccer/liverpool-eyeing-up-a-move-for-premier-league-star-as-two-midfielders-are-set-to-leave-40374388.html) also claims current Liverpool midfielder, Naby Keita, could be made available for a summer move having [struggled to make the desired impact](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/liverpool/naby-keita-transfer-leipzig-salzburg-b1830491.html) on Merseyside since arriving from RB Leipzig.

Bissouma, a 24-year-old [14-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yves-bissouma/nationalmannschaft/spieler/410425/verein_id/3674) international, has been an impressive figure for Brighton this term, earning an average [Sofascore rating of 7.08](https://www.sofascore.com/player/yves-bissouma/844842) from 31 Premier League appearances.

Signing the Malian ahead of next term would have to be viewed as smart business from the club.

Albeit Wijnaldum looks set to level on a free, bringing in a replacement with [league experience](https://www.premierleague.com/players/50245/Yves-Bissouma/stats) and proven quality makes an abundance of sense.

Valued at £15.3million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yves-bissouma/marktwertverlauf/spieler/410425#:~:text=%22Central%20Midfield%22.-,With%20a%20market%20value%20of%20%C2%A315.30m%2C%20Yves%20Bissouma,players%20of%20the%20Premier%20League.)), the mooted £35million fee isn’t beyond all rationale and could be one that further entices Liverpool to act.
