# Virals: Liverpool interested in Championship starlet Djed Spence

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/24/virals-serie-a-manager-really-likes-liverpool-star-divock-origi/) are reportedly one of the clubs interested in Championship starlet Djed Spence.

The 21-year-old has attracted the attention of the Reds as well as [Arsenal](https://readarsenal.com/) and Tottenham.

Currently enjoying a superb spell [on loan](https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/djed-spence-middlesbrough-nottingham-forest-22674088) at Nottingham Forest from Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season, the attack-minded right-back has been catching the eye.

According to a report from the [Northern Echo](https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/19949316.middlesbrough-djed-spence-isaiah-jones-attracting-transfer-interest/), as cited by [Anfield Edition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1496959667553067011) on Twitter, Liverpool are taking a close look at the youngster.

The report claims that the [Premier League title-chasers](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) have been ‘touted as potential suitors’ for the £15million rated ace.

So far this season Spence – once hailed as [‘outstanding’](https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007t9y1) by ex-Red Stephen Warnock – has [scored twice and provided another two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/djed-spence/leistungsdaten/spieler/483348) in 31 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Under [contract](https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/transfer-news/nottingham-forest-transfers-djed-spence-6622536) in the North East until 2024, signing the London-born full-back for the mooted £15million would perhaps be over the odds.

Valued at just £2.25million by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/djed-spence/marktwertverlauf/spieler/483348), Liverpool would likely be looking for a reduction in asking price, particularly given the possibility of complications for Boro’ regarding Financial Fair Play Regulations.

With current Fulham loan star Neco Williams seemingly [destined to leave](https://metro.co.uk/2021/06/21/liverpool-news-neco-williams-wants-exit-as-club-sets-asking-price-for-summer-move-14806139/) on a permanent deal and Conor Bradley still a teenager, Jurgen Klopp will need a new long-term understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Capable of playing down the [entire right-hand side](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/362219/Show/Djed-Spence) and with a range of attacking strengths, Spence would certainly be suited to the Reds’ style from wide areas.
