# Virals: Liverpool interested in KV Oostende midfielder Kenny Rocha Santos

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/11/virals-liverpool-willing-to-pay-75m-release-clause-for-jules-kounde/) are reportedly interested in KV Oostende midfielder Kenny Rocha Santos.

The Reds have been named alongside FC Porto and Feyenoord as the potential suitors for the 22-year-old [Cape Verde international](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/lineups/ethiopia-vs-cape-verde_game_18365782_sl.html).

Signed from French Ligue 1 club AS Nancy as a free agent in July 2021, Santos has been [ever-present](https://www.sofascore.com/player/kenny-rocha-santos/867520) in the Pro League this term.

According to a report from [Voetbal Flitsen](https://voetbalflitsen.be/nieuwste/7kdxwq/wtf-kvo-middenvelder-kan-naar-deze-europese-topclubs-maar-moet-10-miljoen-kosten), as cited by [https://twitter.com/NewsProleague](https://twitter.com/NewsProleague)[Pro League News](https://twitter.com/NewsProleague)on Twitter, the Anfield club are attentive to the youngster.

Translated, the Tweet claims that Oostende would ‘not ask for less’ than €10million (£8.3million) for their [11-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kenny-rocha-santos/nationalmannschaft/spieler/476527/verein_id/4311) star.

This season Santos – who was named [man of the match](https://twitter.com/foet247Africa/status/1480289424743485442) in Cape Verde’s AFCON opener – has provided [three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kenny-rocha-santos/leistungsdaten/spieler/476527) in 21 league appearances from a variety of midfield roles.

Valued at just £1.62million and under contract in Belgium until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kenny-rocha-santos/marktwertverlauf/spieler/476527)), this is a deal that is unlikely to stretch the Reds financially.

Albeit somewhat from left-field, Santos does possess [strong attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/332815/Show/Kenny-Rocha-Santos) as well as wide-ranging versatility.

Capable of playing both as a defensive and attack mined midfielder, the Cape Verdean can also [operate from wide positions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kenny-rocha-santos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/476527) as well as upfront.

That ability to play numerous positions – in the mould of James Milner – would likely appeal to [Jurgen Klopp](https://www.givemesport.com/1751741-harvey-elliott-liverpools-jurgen-klopp-was-visibly-emotional-when-giving-injury-update) and may see the Reds make the surprise swoop.
