# Virals: Liverpool ‘interested’ in move for Real Madrid ace Marco Asensio

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/24/virals-liverpool-keeping-tabs-on-ajax-centre-back-perr-schuurs/) are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid forward [Marco Asensio](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/02/virals-liverpool-in-the-mix-for-marco-asensio-capture/).

The Reds have been [linked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-transfers-marco-asensio-coman-21538203) with the Spaniard previously and could look to land the out of favour ace in the near future.

Asensio was [reportedly](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/report/_/gameId/610715) left angry recently having remained an unused substitute as Los Blancos lost 2-1 at the hands of Valencia.

According to a report from Italian outlet [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/non-solo-milan-asensio-piace-in-inghilterra-66162), as cited by [Leelafootballnews](https://twitter.com/Leelafootball2) on Twitter, Jurgen Klopp could attempt to sign the 25-year-old.

The report claims that the Anfield club are set to rival Serie A giants AC Milan for the [26 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/nationalmannschaft/spieler/296622/verein_id/3375) Spain ace’s signature.

This season the man hailed as [‘very dangerous’](https://www.sportsmax.tv/football/international/item/87965-madrid-boss-ancelotti-praises-hat-trick-hero-asensio-and-in-form-benzema-after-mallorca-rout) by Carlo Ancelotti has scored [three goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/leistungsdaten/spieler/296622) in six appearances – all coming in a hat-trick performance against Mallorca.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Signing the [scourge of Liverpool](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ridiculous-liverpool-stunned-referee-decision-20332742) in last season’s UEFA Champions League defeat would certainly bolster the attacking ranks on Merseyside.

Capable of playing [across the frontline](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/296622) and with [97 direct goal contributions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/296622) in 292 career outings, Asensio has the ability to be a boost to Klopp’s ranks.

Valued at £31.5million and under contract until 2023 at the Bernabeu ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/marktwertverlauf/spieler/296622)), any move for the Spaniard would likely come at an affordable price.
