# Virals: Liverpool interested in ‘outstanding’ RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/19/virals-jurgen-klopp-provides-fitness-updates-ahead-of-arsenal-clash/) are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.

The Reds are being [billed as the ‘main competitor’](https://www.football-espana.net/2021/11/16/is-dani-olmo-the-right-fit-for-barcelona) to Barcelona for the signature of the 23-year-old.

Olmo has gained a [burgeoning reputation](https://www.sofascore.com/player/dani-olmo/789071) across the continent with his performances for club and country over the last 18 months.

Now according to a report from Catalan based [El Nacional](https://www.elnacional.cat/ca/esports/barca-klopp-liverpool-xavi-hernandez-dani-olmo_670151_102.html), as cited by [Anfield Agenda](https://twitter.com/AnfieldAgenda) on Twitter, Liverpool and Barcelona are set to battle for the Spaniard.

The report claims that Jurgen Klopp wants to bring the [18-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-olmo/nationalmannschaft/spieler/293385/verein_id/3375) Spain ace to Merseyside ‘no matter what’ and the club are readying an ‘almost irresistible contract’ offer.

Olmo – who was hailed as [‘outstanding’](https://bulinews.com/news/5257/julian-nagelsmann-praises-dani-olmo-hes-outstanding-footballer) by Julian Nagelsmann – missed much of the early season due to a muscle injury has only recently returned to the fold in Germany.

Valued at £45million and under contract until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-olmo/marktwertverlauf/spieler/293385)), signing the versatile Spaniard for the mooted £42million asking price would represent exceptional value for money.

Liverpool under Klopp have developed a penchant for improving players into stars and the versatile ace is another who would appear to have [all the makings of a top player](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/261212/Show/Dani-Olmo) in waiting.

Capable of the sublime and [twice named player of the year](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-olmo/erfolge/spieler/293385) at Dinamo Zagreb, bringing Olmo to Anfield – perhaps as a [replacement](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alex-oxlade-chamberlain-leave-liverpool-20816595) for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – would be a superb coup.
