# Virals: Liverpool interested in Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/06/virals-liverpool-reportedly-interested-in-napoli-midfielder-fabian-ruiz/) are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid star Toni Kroos.

Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a [long-term admirer](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-jurgen-klopp-toni-kroos-20378260) of the 31-year-old German midfielder and there could be an offer forthcoming.

That’s according to a report from Spanish outlet [El Nacional](https://www.elnacional.cat/ca/esports/klopp-li-va-prometre-que-li-faria-una-oferta-irrefusable-per-treure-l-del-reial-madrid-i-el-liverpoo_678134_102.html).

Last season Kroos was in [stunning form](https://twitter.com/ChampionsLeague/status/1381634069780430853) as Los Blancos overcame the Anfield club in the UEFA Champions League.

The report claims that Klopp has ‘spoken several times’ with Kroos and has ‘promised’ the [106-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/toni-kroos/nationalmannschaft/spieler/31909/verein_id/3262) World Cup winner that a bid will be made.

So far this season the man once hailed as one of the [‘biggest talents in German football’](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/431310-jurgen-klopp-real-madrid-champions-league-press-conference) by the 54-year-old manager has [scored twice and provided two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/toni-kroos/leistungsdaten/spieler/31909) in 13 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £27million and under contract in Madrid in 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/toni-kroos/marktwertverlauf/spieler/31909)), it would take a mooted that €50million (£42.75million) to land the ace.

Undoubtedly a superb player who boasts a [stellar career](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/toni-kroos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/31909) at the very top level, Liverpool shelling out such figures for a 31-year-old seems highly unlikely.

A player in a similar mould to Thiago, the upturn in the [Spaniard’s form](https://www.sofascore.com/player/thiago-alcantara/53825) in recent weeks is another reason as to why the club would be reticent to move for Kroos at this stage.
