# Virals: Liverpool ‘interested’ in Real Madrid starlet Rodrygo

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/13/virals-ac-milan-interested-in-liverpool-striker-divock-origi/) are reportedly ‘interested’ in talented Real Madrid winger Rodrygo.

The Reds have previously been [linked with a mov](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/real-madrid-liverpool-move-22119892)e for the 20-year-old and could revisit their interest as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster the attacking ranks.

Despite arriving in the Spanish capital as a prodigious talent, things [haven’t quite gone to plan](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodrygo/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/412363) for the ex-Santos starlet and a move could be on the cards.

That’s according to Spanish outlet [El Nacional](https://www.elnacional.cat/ca/esports/van-temptar-florenti-perez-amb-60-milions-i-va-rebutjar-l-oferta-pero-ara-tornen-amb-80-quilos_680666_102.html), as cited by [Transfer News Live](https://twitter.com/DeadlineDayLive) on Twitter.

The report claims that Klopp ‘insists’ that the Anfield club pursue the [five-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodrygo/nationalmannschaft/spieler/412363/verein_id/37018) Brazil Under 23 ace.

So far this season Rodrygo – once described as making the game seem [‘easy’](https://as.com/futbol/2020/09/18/primera/1600455998_920381.html) by Tite – has [scored twice and provided three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodrygo/leistungsdaten/spieler/412363) in 20 appearances for Los Blancos.

Valued at £31.5million and under contract at the Bernabeu until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodrygo/marktwertverlauf/spieler/412363)), paying the mooted £68million fee would still be a risk.

Albeit a player with an abundance of talent, the Brazilian is yet to cement himself as a [top performer](https://www.sofascore.com/player/rodrygo/910536) at the elite level.

Furthermore, reputable journalist [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1469994396380708865?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1469994396380708865%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.football365.com%2Fnews%2Ftransfer-gossip-liverpool-68m-update-rodrygo-chelsea-double-boost) has doubled down on an unwillingness to sell from Real Madrid – perhaps leading to an even greater price tag.

Despite being a possible [heir apparent](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodrygo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/412363) to Sadio Mane or even Mohamed Salah, this is a deal that is best watched for now.
