# Virals: Liverpool ‘keeping tabs’ on Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/07/virals-liverpool-on-the-prowl-for-barcelona-starlet-gavi/) are reportedly ‘keeping tabs’ on the situation surrounding Bayern Munich star [Serge Gnabry](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/10/15/why-woodburn-is-using-gnabry-as-inspiration-he-is-a-perfect-role-model/).

The 26-year-old midfielder is [expected to sign a new deal](https://www.bavarianfootballworks.com/2022/1/19/22891061/bayern-munich-serge-gnabry-is-expected-to-extend-his-contract-coman-kimmich-sule-goretzka-nagelsmann) to remain in Bavaria, but the Reds and Manchester United are believed to be watching on with interest.

Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also attentive to the situation of the ace with [14 majors honours](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/serge-gnabry/erfolge/spieler/159471) including two FA Cups at Arsenal.

According to a report from [Sky Germany](https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artikel/fc-bayern-vertragspoker-zwischen-gnabry-fcb-stockt-top-teams-schon-in-lauerstellung/12533063/34130), as cited by [The Transfer Exchange Show](https://twitter.com/TheTransferEx/status/1490264961997844481) on Twitter, Liverpool are keen on the German international.

The report claims that the Anfield club are ‘lying in wait’ should the [31-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/serge-gnabry/nationalmannschaft/spieler/159471/verein_id/3262) ace fail to agree to a new deal at Bayern.

This season Gnabry – once described as an [‘extraordinary player’](https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1470851150178099202?s=20) by Julian Nagelsmann – has [scored 12 times and provided eight assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/serge-gnabry/leistungsdaten/spieler/159471) in 28 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £63million and under contract in Germany until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/serge-gnabry/marktwertverlauf/spieler/159471)), it’s clear to see why Bayern would be desperate to tie down their versatile attacker.

Capable of [playing across numerous positions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/serge-gnabry/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/159471) in the midfield and frontline, Gnabry would be a superb acquisition to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Boasting a plethora of [impressive attacking attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/119501/Show/Serge-Gnabry), if no new deal is on the horizon this summer then Liverpool should go big on the German.
