[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/11/virals-england-u21-managers-confirms-more-treatment-for-curtis-jones/) are reportedly ‘keeping tabs’ on the situation surrounding Norwich City midfielder [Todd Cantwell](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/03/05/cantwell-is-no-longer-a-transfer-target-for-liverpool-claims-journalist/).

The Reds have been [linked](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7846677/Manchester-United-join-rivals-City-Tottenham-race-sign-Norwich-midfielder-Todd-Cantwell.html) with the 23-year-old previously and it would appear their admiration has continued as Arsenal also take an interest.

Cantwell has come through the ranks in East Anglia and broke into the first-team following a successful [loan spell](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/todd-cantwell/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/332341) at Dutch Eredivisie side Fortuna Sittard.

According to a report from Spanish outlet [Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/arsenal-sigue-cerca-evolucion-todd-cantwell-20211009.html), as cited by [Anfield Edition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition) on Twitter, Liverpool are keen on signing the Englishman on a free next summer.

Despite playing a huge part in the Canaries’ all-conquering Championship-winning campaign in 2020/21 with [six goals and seven assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/todd-cantwell/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/332341/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB2/verein/1123), Cantwell has struggled for prolonged action this term.

So far this season the [four-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/todd-cantwell/nationalmannschaft/spieler/332341/verein_id/9565) England Under 21 starlet has made just [five Premier League appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/todd-cantwell/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/332341/saison/2021/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/1123) – only starting on three occasions.

More recent issues aside, Cantwell’s [six-goal first spell](https://www.premierleague.com/players/14944/Todd-Cantwell/overview) in the top flight was proof that the talented youngster has the ability to thrive at the highest level.

In a similar mould to Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, the attack-minded midfielder possesses many impressive [forward-thinking attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/346738/Show/Todd-Cantwell) as well as wide-ranging versatility.

Valued at £19.8million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/todd-cantwell/marktwertverlauf/spieler/332341)), signing Cantwell for free next summer would be a shrewd deal that would offer a major boost to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
