# Virals: Liverpool linked with Spain starlet Gavi following ‘explosion’

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/15/virals-liverpool-pay-attention-to-bayern-munich-star-corentin-tolisso/) have once again been linked with a move for Barcelona starlet [Gavi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/09/virals-liverpool-ready-to-pounce-for-barcelona-starlet-gavi/) following an ‘explosion’ onto the senior scene.

The 17-year-old has [become a regular for Xavi’s side](https://www.sofascore.com/player/gavi/1103693) as well as the Spanish national team over the last 12 months.

This rapid rise to prominence has [caused a stir in European football](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/spain-esp/story/4492661/barcelonas-gavi-not-normal-as-he-becomes-youngest-ever-spain-international-boss-luis-enrique) as the Reds and Chelsea now pay serious attention to the midfielder.

That’s according to the latest report from [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/players-complicated-renewal-at-club-invite-liverpool-to-tempt-him-for-transfer-reds-interest-pushed-again/)), as cited by [Absolute Chelsea](https://twitter.com/AbsoluteChelsea/status/1493680513470672897) on Twitter.

The report backs up a plethora of [previous links](https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpool-taken-interest-talented-midfielder-reds-stalk-clubs-renewal-effort-goes-slow/) and suggests that the form of the [four-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gavi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/646740/verein_id/3375) Spain ace plus an attainable release clause will ‘invite the big clubs to tempt him’ this summer.

This season Gavi – hailed as [‘incredible’](https://tech2sports.com/2021/10/07/gavi-receives-praise-after-a-heroic-performance-in-spains-win-over-italy-to-reach-the-nations-league-final/) by Roberto Mancini – has [scored twice and registered three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gavi/leistungsdaten/spieler/646740) in 28 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £36million and under contract at the Camp Nou until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gavi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/646740)), signing the mooted €50milion (£41.9million) release clause would be an extraordinary piece of business.

Unsurprisingly, Barcelona are desperate to tie down their [versatile starlet](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gavi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/646740) further as the interest ramps up.

Having already stocked the Liverpool squad with talented youngsters such as Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, Kaide Gordon and Tyler Morton, adding the [impressive](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/422937/Show/Gavi) Spanish teen to the ranks would be a no-brainer for Jurgen Klopp.
