# Virals: Liverpool maintain interest in Leeds United winger Raphinha

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/06/fabrizio-romano-claims-ibrahima-konate-deal-is-really-close/) have been credited with holding an [interest](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-transfer-plan-raphinha-amid-23592479)in Leeds United winger [Raphinha](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/03/03/report-leeds-united-unwilling-to-sell-happy-liverpool-target-raphinha/) at various points this season.

The Brazilian has made an instant impact on the Premier League having arrived under the radar somewhat from French Ligue 1 club Rennes for £17million ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54415316)) last summer.

Jurgen Klopp will almost certainly be looking to bolster his attacking ranks ahead of the 2021/22 campaign and Liverpool Echo journalist [Ian Doyle](https://twitter.com/IanDoyleSport), as cited by [Anfield Watch](https://twitter.com/AnfieldWatch/status/1389948656061763588), believes the 24-year-old could be one of those the Reds target.

Raphinha has [scored six and registered six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdaten/spieler/411295) in 26 league appearances this season – earning an impressive [average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/raphinha/831005) of 7.16.

Described as [‘spotaneous’](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/marcelo-bielsa-heaps-praise-on-spontaneous-leeds-winger-raphinha-1614116218000) by heralded Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, the skilful Brazilian has certainly been catching the eye during his debut campaign in England.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

There is certainly an abundance of fringe players in the [Liverpool squad](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) that could sweeten any potential deal.

The likes of Harry Wilson, Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino would all be [considered as candidates](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/liverpool-transfer-news-divock-origi-alex-oxlade-chamberlain-and-xherdan-shaqiri-set-to-leave-reds) to head to Elland Road, were the Reds to pursue a cash plus player type deal.

[Valued at £22.5m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/marktwertverlauf/spieler/411295), Leeds would likely [demand](https://talksport.com/football/843196/leeds-raphinha-liverpool-manchester-united-transfer-interest/) at least double the fee paid for the versatile winger – an amount that would likely put the Anfield hierarchy off.
