# Virals: Liverpool make ‘offer’ to Real Madrid star Marco Asensio

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/25/virals-liverpool-interested-in-championship-starlet-djed-spence/) have reportedly made an ‘offer’ to sign Real Madrid forward [Marco Asensio](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/07/virals-liverpool-presented-an-offer-to-real-madrid-forward-marco-asensio/).

The 26-year-old has been [extensively linked](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1435627026568859652) to the Reds previously and it would appear that the interest hasn’t subsided.

Now, Premier League rivals Arsenal have joined the pursuit of the [highly-rated](https://www.90min.com/in/posts/5563745-intelligent-marco-asensio-praised-by-former-real-madrid-ace-jorge-valdano) Spanish international.

That’s according to journalist Eduardo Inda (via [Super Deporte](https://www.superdeporte.es/futbol/2022/02/22/madrid-planta-asensio-63030906.html)).

It’s claimed that the [26-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/nationalmannschaft/spieler/296622/verein_id/35742) Spain ace has ‘two offers’ from England worth 50% more than the current terms from the La Liga giants.

This season Asensio – once [likened to Lionel Messi](https://www.besoccer.com/new/asensio-reminds-me-of-messi-when-he-plays-for-argentina-312533) by Jorge Valdano – has [scored nine times and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/leistungsdaten/spieler/296622) in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £36million and out of contract in 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/marktwertverlauf/spieler/296622)), signing the Spanish forward for a cut-price fee this summer would be a superb piece of business.

Comfortable playing [across the entire frontline](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/296622), Asensio’s versatility would be an excellent addition to Jurgen Klopp’s ranks.

With previous [injury woes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marco-asensio/verletzungen/spieler/296622) seemingly a thing of the past, Liverpool would be wise to actively pursue the talented Spaniard.
