# Virals: Liverpool ‘monitoring’ Olympiacos star Aguibou Camara

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/03/pundit-tips-brilliant-arnaut-danjuma-to-strengthen-liverpool-ranks/) are reportedly ‘monitoring’ Olympiacos star [Aguibou Camara](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/10/virals-liverpool-following-olympiacos-star-aguibou-camara/) as the January transfer window gets underway.

The Reds have been left short in the midfield department in recent weeks following [injuries](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/liverpools-current-injury-list-and-suspensions) to Thiago, Naby Keita and Curtis Jones.

Camara has been [on the radar at Anfield](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/camara-olympiacos-liverpool-premier-league-25542060) for some time and has seemingly attracted the attention of Leicester, Newcastle United and AC Milan.

Now according to a report from [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/brilla-la-stella-di-aguibou-camara-il-milan-lo-tiene-d-occhio-73185), as cited by [https://twitter.com/MilanPosts](https://twitter.com/MilanPosts)[Milan Posts](https://twitter.com/MilanPosts) on Twitter, Liverpool remain keen on the 20-year-old.

The report claims that the [nine-cap Guinea ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aguibou-camara/nationalmannschaft/spieler/543529/verein_id/3856) will be ‘under observation’ on Merseyside during the Africa Cup of Nations.

So far this season Camara has [scored five times and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aguibou-camara/leistungsdaten/spieler/543529) in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £2.7million and under contract in Greece until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aguibou-camara/marktwertverlauf/spieler/543529)), the report has tipped the asking price to ‘soar’ should the attacking midfielder thrive this month.

Likely to feature alongside Keita in the Guinean midfield against [Zimbabwe, Malawi and Senegal in Group B](https://www.skysports.com/africa-cup-of-nations-fixtures), suitors will certainly know more about their target over the coming weeks.

Already [billed](https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2021-10-who-is-aguibou-camara-olympiacos-sensation-scouted-liverpool) as an expert ball-carrier, Jurgen Klopp will no doubt be paying close attention to the starlet’s success or otherwise.
