# Virals: Liverpool ‘most advanced’ in pursuit of Robert Lewandowski

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/21/opinion-forgotten-liverpool-ace-joe-gomez-was-the-standout-in-fa-cup-win/) are reportedly the ‘most advanced’ club in the pursuit of Bayern Munich striker [Robert Lewandowski](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/06/virals-liverpool-on-alert-for-robert-lewandowski-transfer/).

The Reds are believed to be the frontrunners for the 33-year-old [superstar](https://www.sofascore.com/player/robert-lewandowski/41789) ahead of interest from Manchester City, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Despite being under contract until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/profil/spieler/38253)), it would appear that the Pole is nearing an exit from Bavaria.

According to a report from [Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/tapado-fichar-lewandowski-20220319.html), as cited by [Liverpool FC News](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC/status/1505498417723854848) on Twitter, Liverpool could bring the Pole to Merseyside.

The report claims that [128-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/nationalmannschaft/spieler/38253/verein_id/3442) star has the ‘intention’ to leave Bayern and could complete Jurgen Klopp’s ‘dream squad’ at Anfield.

So far this term Lewandowski – [hailed](https://www.fifa.com/tournaments/mens/worldcup/2018russia/news/lauding-lewandowski-in-praise-of-poland-s-goal-king) as ‘gifted’ by Klopp in 2018 – has [scored an outstanding 45 goals and registered four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/leistungsdaten/spieler/38253) in 37 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Signing the [£45million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/marktwertverlauf/spieler/38253) ace this summer for the mooted £70million fee would be an astonishing piece of business.

Albeit now on the wrong side of 30, Lewandowski is certainly [showing no signs of slowing down](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/38253) in front of goal and would provide a serious attacking option alongside the likes of Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Perhaps the most lethal finisher in Europe right now, adding the Pole to an already superb [Liverpool squad](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) would be a massive boost.
