# Virals: Liverpool named among four suitors for AC Milan star Franck Kessie

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/16/virals-liverpool-huge-fans-of-brazilian-forward-antony/) have once again been named among the potential suitors for AC Milan midfielder [Franck Kessie](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/11/virals-liverpool-target-franck-kessie-dragging-his-feet-over-future/).

The 25-year-old ace has been [perenially indexed](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1466139/Liverpool-transfer-news-Kessie-SNT) to the Reds as a host of clubs take a keen interest in his services.

This time the Anfield club have been named alongside Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United as Kessie continues to approach the [end of a contract](https://www.marca.com/en/football/tottenham/2022/01/20/61e98b4dca474115678b4595.html#:~:text=Franck%20Kessie's%20contract%20with%20AC,away%20from%20Italy%20for%20nothing.) in Italy.

That’s according to a report from [La Repubblica](https://www.repubblica.it/)(print version, via [Milan News](https://www.milannews.it/calciomercato-milan/repubblica-milan-sono-5-i-club-pronti-a-muoversi-per-kessie-441430)), as cited by [Liverpool FC News](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC/status/1493553872073334784) on Twitter.

The report claims that the [52-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/franck-kessie/nationalmannschaft/spieler/294808/verein_id/3591) Ivory Coast ace ‘remains in the sights’ of Liverpool.

So far this season Kessie – hailed as an [‘extraordinary player’](https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/montella-heaps-praise-on-franck-kessie-as-an-extraordinary/177itqks7rkfc1mnnkq9xxcwn1) by Vincenzo Montella – has earned an impressive [7.12 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/franck-kessie/359226) from 18 Serie A outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £43.2million and out of contract in a matter of months ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/franck-kessie/marktwertverlauf/spieler/294808)), at present, all roads seem to lead to a departure as a free agent this summer.

Signing a high-quality operator such as the [powerful midfielder](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/277269/Show/Franck-Kessi%C3%A9) for nothing has to be regarded as a no-brainer for the Reds.

Despite holding impressive strength in depth in the current ranks, Liverpool failed to source a direct replacement for Gini Wijnaldum when the Dutchman [left as a free agent](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/why-gini-wijnaldum-leaving-liverpool-20781054) in 2021.

If the Reds can beat the competition, Kessie is the ideal candidate to come in and bolster [Jurgen Klopp’s options](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) again – without the issue of a transfer fee.
