# Virals: Liverpool named among suitors for Robert Lewandowski

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/16/virals-game-in-numbers-as-fabinho-earns-consecutive-mom-award/) have been named among the leading contenders to sign Bayern Munich superstar [Robert Lewandowski](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/12/robert-lewandowski-lauds-father-figure-jurgen-klopp/) next summer.

This comes after the 33-year-old was [reportedly](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11890/12384977/robert-lewandowski-bayern-munich-striker-wants-new-challenge) keen to seek a new challenge in the near future.

Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have also been [credited with an interest](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-aaron-ramsdale-tammy-abraham-robert-lewandowski-bayern-munich-b1888392.html) in signing the world-class Polish striker.

According to a report from [Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/fichajes-liverpool-robert-lewandowski-ultima-peticion-klopp-20210915.html), as cited by [Liverpool FC News](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC/status/1438406915118321666) on Twitter, the Reds are in the hunt.

The report claims Lewandowski would be ‘interested’ in the Anfield switch in order to reunite with Jurgen Klopp, who was the [125-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/nationalmannschaft/spieler/38253/verein_id/3442) ace’s manager at Borussia Dortmund between 2010 and 2014.

This season the towering Pole, [described](https://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/robert-lewandowski-a-footballer-like-no-other-in-the-world-hansi-flick_vid1472332/video.shtml) as a ‘footballer like no other in the world’ by Hansi Flick, has scored a remarkable [10 goals in just six appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/leistungsdaten/spieler/38253) across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Well, this would be a deal like no other.

Whilst the [£54million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/marktwertverlauf/spieler/38253) phenomenon shows no sign of slowing up and would undoubtedly strengthen the attacking options at Anfield, shelling out any lofty fee for a player aged over 30 seems highly unlikely under the current owners.

Under contract until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/profil/spieler/38253)), perhaps were the situation to develop and mean a deal could be done at a bargain rate, Liverpool may then act.

Until then it seems farfetched to imagine the [469 career goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/38253) will be adding to that extraordinary tally on Merseyside.

Few players in world football possess the pull of Lewandowski, something that [would attract FSG](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/fsg-liverpool-club-model-transfers-20666788) to the move, but we fear the finances for an ageing star would remain out of reach.
