# Virals: Liverpool named on three club shortlist for Erling Haaland

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/08/virals-liverpool-handed-double-international-fitness-concern/) have been named on a three club shortlist to sign Borussia Dortmund superstar [Erling Haaland](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/27/virals-erling-haaland-open-to-sensational-liverpool-transfer/).

The 21-year-old Norwegian is set to be the [hottest property in world football](https://norwaytoday.info/sport/haaland-is-hottest-property-on-reputable-football-site/) next summer with clubs across Europe queueing up for the striker.

Despite being one of the leading stars on the globe, Haaland is [expected](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/does-erling-haaland-have-a-transfer-release-clause-which/5fya6eqnr0bk1loqqkxmhbjwh) to be available for a €75million (£63.7million) release clause in 2022.

According to [Tuttosport](https://www.tuttosport.com/), as cited by [LFC Transfer Room](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1446546997528481802) on Twitter, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are in contention for the phenomenons’ signature.

The report goes one step further and claims that there is a 25 per cent of seeing the [15-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/erling-haaland/nationalmannschaft/spieler/418560/verein_id/3440) Norway man at Anfield, whilst the French giants hold a 50 per cent majority.

Already a multi accolade winner, this season Haaland, who was described as [‘lethal’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9365253/Erling-Haaland-Thierry-Henry-praise-lethal-Borussia-Dortmund-star.html) by Thierry Henry, has [scored 11 and provide four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/erling-haaland/leistungsdaten/spieler/418560) in just eight appearances across all competitions.

Whichever club wins the race for Haaland looks set to stand themselves in [powerful stead for many years](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/borussia-dortmund/story/4226109/why-dortmund-star-erling-haaland-could-become-the-worlds-best-footballer) to come.

A truly extraordinary goalscorer, seemingly improving all the time, the Norwegian [powerhouse](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/315227/Show/Erling-Haaland) would be a revolutionary capture.

Liverpool are certainly in need of a recognised striker to [replace Roberto Firmino](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/malen-watkins-iheanacho-strikers-replace-firmino-liverpool/o9mym6k307rg17fmqz0z4edmp) in the long term, Haaland would be almost every Kopites’ dream.

Whilst the [mooted wages](https://www.givemesport.com/1742715-erling-haaland-wages-mino-raiolas-ridiculous-demands-to-chelsea) and all-round finances are beyond reason, a statement signing is needed on Merseyside and there would be none better.

Ultimately the choice will be Haaland’s and the romanticism of a move to Liverpool and Anfield – a [‘dream come true’](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-erling-braut-haaland-champions-19108029) to the Norwegian – may hold strong sway.
