# Virals: Liverpool outcast Divock Origi attracts interest from two clubs

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/03/virals-jonathan-david-very-high-on-liverpool-shortlist/) are yet to spring fully into action during the summer transfer window despite player sales coming into play.

The Reds were expected to be active following the [departure of various squad players](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/transfers/verein/31) but that hasn’t proved to be the case as Marko Grujic, Harry Wilson and Taiwo Awoniyi helped raise upwards of £30million in funds.

French defender [Ibrahima Konate](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/13/ibrahima-konate-first-session/) remains the only incoming having arrived at the start of the window for £36million from RB Leipzig ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12316877/ibrahima-konate-liverpool-sign-centre-back-from-rb-leipzig)).

Perhaps the biggest question mark hangs over [unquestionable cult hero](https://talksport.com/football/623953/liverpool-divock-origi-merseyside-derbies-forgotten-man-cult-hero/) Divock Origi.

So often [the man for the big moment](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/393369-kop-10-your-favourite-divock-origi-moments) on Merseyside, the 26-year-old Belgian is in danger of watching a promising career drift into obscurity at Anfield.

According to a report from [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-transfer-news-shaqiri-origi-24669283), as cited by [LFC Round Up](https://twitter.com/LFCroundup/status/1422473861124272156) on Twitter, Wolves and Napoli could offer the forward a way out this summer.

The report claims that the Reds would only be willing to part with the [29-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368/verein_id/3382) star should a £20million valuation be met.

Overall Origi has [scored 35 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/148368) during a seven-year spell on Merseyside – including a [brace against Barcelona](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/lionel-who-the-night-origi-overshadowed-messi-and-became-a/t2gnyhkhq8hv1qnfcanrise2a) and a UEFA Champions League final strike.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Ultimately Jurgen Klopp simply cannot rely on the Belgian for [consistent levels](https://www.sofascore.com/player/divock-origi/190399) of performance.

Upstaged by the [instant impact](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/jota-impact-liverpool-similar-salah-klopp-headache-aldridge/1ixdq112s4wu9z9kenig0uy58) made by Diogo Jota last season, Origi must surely be keen to seek pastures new in an attempt to rejuvenate a floundering career.

Valued at £10.8million and under contract until 2022 at Anfield ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368)), Liverpool’s usual tendency to extract every possible penny from a sale could surely be more flexible in this case.

In need of midfield and attacking reinforcements, recouping the £10million expenditure ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/28551650)) would suffice in order to boost the budget.
