# Virals: Liverpool planning ‘mission to Italy’ regarding Serie A duo

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/02/virals-james-pearce-confirms-summer-exit-for-loris-karius/) are reportedly planning a ‘mission to Italy’ in order to pursue deals for a high-profile Serie A duo.

The Reds are believed to be keen on seeking out a move for Juventus forward [Paulo Dybala](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/27/virals-liverpool-fans-dismiss-embarrassing-links-to-paulo-dybala/) and Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar.

Out of contract at the end of the season, 28-year-old Argentina ace Dybala has previously been [linked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/paulo-dybala-liverpool-transfer-move-22888054) with a move to Anfield.

According to a report from [Tuttomercatoweb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/tmw-liverpool-a-febbraio-missione-in-italia-nel-mirino-dei-i-reds-i-dybala-e-skriniar-1640144), as cited by [TEAMtalk](https://twitter.com/TEAMtalk/status/1488648354833780743) on Twitter, Liverpool are set to make their interest known.

The report claims that the Reds are planning ‘concrete moves’ in February to ‘establish contacts’ over the [48 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/milan-skriniar/nationalmannschaft/spieler/204069/verein_id/3503) Skriniar and [£45million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/marktwertverlauf/spieler/206050) Dybala.

So far this season – the man once hailed as [‘special’](https://sportmob.com/en/news/23680-legends-praise-special-dybala) by Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero – has earned an impressive [7.61 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/paulo-dybala/256219) from 17 league outings.

Meanwhile, the defender [twice crowned](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/milan-skriniar/erfolge/spieler/204069) Slovakian Footballer of the Year has [scored four times in 27 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/milan-skriniar/leistungsdaten/spieler/204069) across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Pulling off a double signing of this magnitude would certainly be quite the statement of intent in the summer, especially in the wake of [Luis Diaz’s arrival](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12527169/luis-diaz-liverpool-sign-porto-winger-on-five-and-a-half-year-deal-for-initial-fee-of-37m) and the possible capture of Fabio Carvalho.

Whilst the move for Dybala looks almost certain to be a salary only venture, the demands would still be lofty for a player of the [Argentinian’s stature](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/erfolge/spieler/206050).

Moving for Skriniar is perhaps the more questionable link given the plethora of riches in terms of [strength in depth](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) in Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate.

Albeit the [£58.8million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/milan-skriniar/marktwertverlauf/spieler/204069) ace would be a superb acquisition, it’s likely the money would be best spent elsewhere unless a big defensive departure was sanctioned.
