# Virals: Liverpool quartet ‘certain’ to earn new contracts

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/05/raphael-honigstein-claims-only-mohamed-salah-sale-can-fund-special-deal/) Football Club could be a hive of activity this summer as [Jurgen Klopp](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/04/salah-olympics-absent/) potentially prepares to oversee a minor overhaul of his playing squad.

Having ended a three-decade wait to [lift the Premier League title](https://www.premierleague.com/news/1697247) in 2019/20, the Reds have fallen [well below their mark](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) this season and look to be in need of a reshuffle.

But, it’s not just potential incomings and outgoings that will see the hierarchy sat around the negotiating table as a host of key players [approach a tipping point](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1431777/Liverpool-transfer-news-Jurgen-Klopp-Michael-Edwards-Diogo-Jota-Premier-League-news) in their existing contracts.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk and captain Jordan Henderson are [among those players](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-contracts-expiring-happens-next-20352367) in the final two years of their deals.

Journalist [Matt Addison](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/authors/matt-addison/) has been cited by [The Anfield Buzz](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldBuzz/status/1389627133186789376) on Twitter this week in claiming at least a quartet of Reds will extend their stay at Anfield.

Unsurprisingly, the future of Salah has been [cause for the most speculation](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12291984/mo-salah-liverpool-forward-says-club-have-not-yet-discussed-a-new-contract-with-him), with [reported](https://www.football-espana.net/2021/03/06/mohamed-salah-linked-with-moves-to-real-madrid-and-barcelona) interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona in signing the [£99million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148455) Egyptian.

The ongoing [Gini Wijnaldum saga](https://talksport.com/football/852926/liverpool-transfer-news-georginio-wijnaldum-contract-barcelona/) aside, tieing star names down has been a strength in recent years at Anfield – perhaps owing to the club’s unwillingness to lose players for nothing.

Klopp will be desperate to build a squad around the aforementioned players and securing their futures will certainly be a huge relief to the German manager.
