# Virals: Liverpool ‘ready to activate’ release clause for wonderkid Gavi

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/09/virals-liverpool-reportedly-very-interested-in-antonio-rudiger/) are reportedly ‘ready to activate’ a release clause to land Barcelona wonderkid Gavi.

The Reds have previously been [linked with a move](https://www.liverpool.com/liverpool-fc-news/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-barcelona-xavi-wonderkid-21800847) for the 17-year-old sensation and could be about to trigger a €50million (£42.7million) clause to land the teenager.

Another product of the Catalan club’s famed La Masia youth academy having made the early [switch from Real Betis](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gavi/transfers/spieler/646740) in 2015, Gavi has emerged as a prodigious talent in recent months.

According to a report from [Elnacional](https://www.elnacional.cat/ca/esports/klopp-li-allarga-la-ma-per-treure-l-del-barca-i-portar-lo-al-liverpool-que-pagaria-la-clausula-s_680318_102.html), as cited by [The Premier League And More](https://twitter.com/ThePLandMore) on Twitter, Liverpool could be about to make their move.

The report claims both Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also keen on the ‘desirable’ fee whilst Jurgen Klopp sees the [four-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gavi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/646740/verein_id/3375) starlet as a ‘great investment’ for the club.

So far this season Gavi – who was hailed as [‘exceptional’](https://tech2sports.com/2021/10/07/gavi-receives-praise-after-a-heroic-performance-in-spains-win-over-italy-to-reach-the-nations-league-final/) by Luis Enrique – has earned a [6.72 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/gavi/1103693) from 13 La Liga outings.
