# Virals: Liverpool ready to ‘cash in’ on Marko Grujic this summer

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/06/virals-multiple-clubs-interested-in-loan-deal-for-neco-williams/) are believed to be ready to ‘cash in’ on central midfielder [Marko Grujic](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/29/james-pearce-liverpool-sell-players/) this summer.

As the Reds look to first boost their own coffers by selling squad players, the [eternal loanee](https://www.transfermarkt.com/marko-grujic/transfers/spieler/222813) could be made available for a permanent transfer.

The Serbian international recently bought to an end his most recent loan spell with FC Porto having made [39 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marko-grujic/leistungsdaten/spieler/222813) across all competitions for the Portuguese giants.

Now, according to a report from the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-marko-grujic-transfer-battle-20753300.amp?__twitter_impression=true), as cited by [Paul Gorst](https://twitter.com/ptgorst/status/1401556182326710273) on Twitter, Liverpool could be prepared to sell this time.

The report claims multiple clubs are keen on the [defensive-minded midfielder](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marko-grujic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/222813) and the 25-year-old could be at the centre of a ‘bidding war’ this summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s first signing at Anfield, Grujic has made just [16 first-team appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marko-grujic/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/222813) in five years on Merseyside.

If ever there was a summer to sell the likes of the [10-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marko-grujic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/222813/verein_id/3438) Serbia man is this one.

Coming off the back of financial hardship caused by the pandemic and with a genuine need to freshen up the [squad](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team), selling off fringe players in order to freshen up the options is a must.

Valued at £13.5million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marko-grujic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/222813)), the mooted valuation is a reasonable one and would be a welcome boost to Klopp’s own spending powers.
