# Virals: Liverpool receive agent contact regarding Ousmane Dembele

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/12/virals-trio-of-international-liverpool-stars-thrive-again/) have reportedly received contact from the agent of Barcelona winger [Ousmane Dembele](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/10/virals-liverpool-interested-in-signing-ousmane-dembele-next-summer/).

The Reds have recently been [heavily linked](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20211011/1001698197/liverpool-prepara-operacion-economica-fichar-dembele.html) with the 24-year-old and could even be preparing an offer to sign the ace on a free transfer next summer.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be ‘in love’ with the Frenchman and could land Dembele in an attempt to freshen up the [attacking ranks](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) at Anfield.

According to a report from Spanish outlet [Cuatro](https://www.cuatro.com/deportes/futbol/liga/renovacion-dembele-agente-ofreciendo-jugador_18_3216945298.html), Barcelona are concerned that the player’s agent has been in contact with Liverpool and Manchester United ‘behind the club’s back’ to discuss a transfer.

The report claims that agent, Moussa Sissoko, has also been in touch with Juventus and Paris Saint Germain to tout the [27 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/nationalmannschaft/spieler/288230/verein_id/3377) ace’s signature.

Signed for an eye-watering £135.5million ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41075084)), Dembele is believed to have [agreed to a new deal](https://www.football-espana.net/2021/08/27/barcelona-announce-contract-ousmane-dembele) to stay at the Camp Nou in principle – although nothing has yet been signed.

Yet to feature this season, the World Cup winner has[scored 18 times and provided 14 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/leistungsdaten/spieler/288230) in 81 appearances for the Catalan club.

Still valued at £45million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/marktwertverlauf/spieler/288230)), the opportunity to sign such a high-quality player for free cannot go unnoticed.

However, Liverpool are highly unlikely to enter into negotiations way beyond their means on wages for a player with a [chequered](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ousmane-dembele/verletzungen/spieler/288230) injury record.

Whilst it’s impossible to rule out the Frenchman arriving at Anfield next summer, [other targets](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/443682-karim-adeyemi-makes-transfer-admission-after-liverpool-rumours) may prove to be more sensible options.
