# Virals: Liverpool reportedly set Mohamed Salah price tag

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/14/fabrizio-romano-claims-total-agreement-reached-for-ibrahima-konate/) have perhaps discovered the worth of [Mohamed Salah](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/14/virals-jurgen-klopp-names-mohamed-salah-as-his-top-signing-ever/) this season more than any that has gone before.

Despite struggles [elsewhere](https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-injury-news-latest-list-alisson-thiago-alexander-arnold-robertson-henderson-780156) within Jurgen Klopp’s squad, the Egyptian forward has maintained a constant performer throughout what has been a difficult campaign.

As those around him fail to reach their consistent heights of previous seasons, the 28-year-old netted his [30th goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdaten/spieler/148455) in all competitions on Thursday to take him level on [21 strikes](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers) in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot.

Often tentatively linked with a move away from Anfield, a fresh report from [ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/paris-saint-germain--frapsg/story/4383254/psg-target-mohamed-salah-manchester-united-in-pole-position-for-jadon-sancho), as cited by [The Anfield Buzz](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldBuzz/status/1393214907181584386) on Twitter, has claimed Liverpool would consider offers in excess of €80m (£69m).

It’s due to the failings elsewhere that Klopp could [delve into the transfer market](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-jamie-carragher-transfer-mbappe-19877239) to bolster his attacking options this summer.

However, with finances tight the Reds may be [forced to sell a star name](https://twitter.com/JanAageFjortoft/status/1391700375930085376) were they to pursue a big arrival such as Jadon Sancho or Kylian Mbappe.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

No chance.

Salah’s importance to Liverpool has been [highlighted](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/top-scorers) this term and in truth, Klopp would value his worth to the side at over double the mooted minimum price tag.

Valued at £99m ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148455#:~:text=%22Right%20Winger%22.-,With%20a%20market%20value%20of%20%C2%A399.00m%2C%20Mohamed%20Salah,players%20of%20the%20Premier%20League.)), the [69-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148455/verein_id/3672) Egyptian would fetch offers beyond the £100m barrier in a normal market and given the frugality amongst the Anfield hierarchy and Michael Edwards’ [knack of getting the best deal](https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/the-219million-profit-liverpool-have-made-in-sales-due-to-michael-edwards/) – there is no way Liverpool would accept a cut-price deal.
