# Virals: Liverpool ‘scout’ AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/17/virals-agent-of-magnificent-mohamed-salah-flies-in-to-finalise-contract/) have been named among the clubs scouting AS Monaco midfielder [Aurelien Tchouameni](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/14/virals-liverpool-discover-50-1m-price-tag-on-aurelien-tchouameni/).

The 21-year-old would appear to be [destined to move on](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/blog-transfer-talk/story/4495770/live-transfer-talkreal-madrid-keen-to-sign-monacos-aurelien-tchouameni) from the French club as interest arrives from across Europe.

According to a report from [ESPN](https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-transfers/story/4496797/pogba-outtchouameni-in-man-united-midfielder-wanted-by-barcelona), as cited by [Mohamed Abdikani](https://twitter.com/Mo_Abdikani) on Twitter, the Reds have been watching the Frenchman along with Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

The report claims that Liverpool are in the mix as the ‘race hots up’ to land the [five-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/nationalmannschaft/spieler/413112/verein_id/3377) star.

So far this season the starlet, labelled a [‘monster’](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/aurelien-tchouameni-the-monaco-midfield-monster-being-linked/q3w72lfb2pn019g7sqdu322c2) by France Under-21 boss Sylvain Ripoll, has [scored twice](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/leistungsdaten/spieler/413112) in 15 appearances across all competitions for Monaco.

Most impressively, the dynamic midfield ace has earned a [7.33 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aurelien-tchouameni/859025) from nine Ligue 1 outings – the [11th best](https://www.sofascore.com/tournament/football/france/ligue-1/34) in the entire league.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Signing another [long-term midfield option](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12391665/georginio-wijnaldum-liverpool-do-not-need-to-replace-midfielder-in-transfer-window-says-jurgen-klopp#:~:text=Jurgen%20Klopp%20says%20there%20is,Anfield%20before%20the%20transfer%20deadline.) is an important next phase for Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Having lost Gini Wijnladum in the summer, the Reds are [light in the department](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) when injuries strike.

Despite the [early signs of promise](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/curtis-jones-liverpool-harvey-elliott-21777757) from Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, elder statesman James Milner and Jordan Henderson will eventually need replacing.

Valued at £31.5million and under contract in France until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aurelien-tchouameni/marktwertverlauf/spieler/413112)), the mooted €50-60million (£42-50million) asking price to sign Tchouameni would be a worthwhile expenditure.
