# Virals: Liverpool ‘seeking’ a transfer for goalkeeper Loris Karius

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/25/virals-liverpool-star-fabinho-returns-to-training-ahead-of-epl-clash/) are reportedly looking to sell out of favour goalkeeper [Loris Karius](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/30/virals-loris-karius-tipped-to-return-to-germany-on-permanent-basis/) before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

The fact the 28-year-old is still on the books at Anfield may come as a surprise to many having been shunned from the squad following that [infamous night in Kyiv](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44258022) against Real Madrid.

Over three years and [three season-long loan moves](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/loris-karius/transfers/spieler/85864) later, the German stopper could finally find a permanent move over the coming days.

That’s according to the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/what-liverpool-want-squad-look-21380011), as cited by [ThinkLFCTV](https://twitter.com/ThinkLFCTV/status/1430474872950562819) on Twitter, claiming the ex-Mainz man has ‘no future’ at the club.

The report states that the Reds will attempt to find a move for [one-time Germany Under 21 international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/loris-karius/nationalmannschaft/spieler/85864/verein_id/3817) before Tuesday’s 11:00pm deadline passes.

Karius enjoyed a strong start to life on loan at Besiktas before an unamiable end to a [67 appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/loris-karius/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/85864) stay.

Last season however was less than successful as the stopper once described as [‘outstanding’](https://www.90min.com/posts/3820213-jurgen-klopp-praises-outstanding-goalkeeper-loris-karius-after-liverpool-debut) by Jurgen Klopp made just [five senior outings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/loris-karius/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/85864) for Union Berlin.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Selling Karius is a no-brainer for the club this summer.

Valued at £1.8million and in the final 12 months of a contract ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/loris-karius/marktwertverlauf/spieler/85864)), without a move Liverpool face the prospect of paying the German’s wages in full without any hope of a return or playing time.

Clearly behind Alisson Becker, Adrian and Caoimhín Kelleher in the [pecking order](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team), Karius himself will surely be desperate for a move.
