# Virals: Liverpool set to welcome ‘excellent’ new signing Luis Diaz

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/02/virals-james-pearce-confirms-summer-exit-for-loris-karius/) are set to welcome ‘excellent’ new signing [Luis Diaz](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/31/andy-brassell-says-liverpool-signing-luis-diaz-was-ready-for-big-move/) to the club following the conclusion of South American World Cup qualifiers.

The 25-year-old is believed to have ‘packed his things’ and travelled along on a charter flight to England to join up with the Reds.

That’s according to a report from [RCN](https://www.noticiasrcn.com/deportes/luis-diaz-viajo-a-liverpool-en-vuelo-charter-desde-argentina-403893), as cited by [Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1488874142321496073) on Twitter.

The report claims that the [33-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-diaz/nationalmannschaft/spieler/480692/verein_id/3816) Colombia star is en route to Merseyside having played all 90 minutes in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Argentina.

Speaking ahead of the arrival of Diaz, Anfield legend Ian Rush told the [club’s official website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/luis-diaz-excellent-signing-he-brings-even-more-competition-places) that the winger will add a much-needed depth to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Prior to completing a £37million switch ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12527169/luis-diaz-liverpool-sign-porto-winger-on-five-and-a-half-year-deal-for-initial-fee-of-37m)), Diaz had [scored 16 times and provided six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-diaz/leistungsdaten/spieler/480692) in 28 appearances for FC Porto this season.
