# Virals: Liverpool starlet Neco Williams ‘could leave’ following EFL enquiry

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/31/virals-liverpool-fans-delighted-as-great-transfer-news-emerges/) youngster [Neco Williams](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/05/virals-liverpool-could-allow-double-defensive-transfer-departure/) reportedly ‘could leave’ Anfield before the transfer deadline passes.

The 20-year-old has [previously been linked](https://metro.co.uk/2021/06/21/liverpool-news-neco-williams-wants-exit-as-club-sets-asking-price-for-summer-move-14806139/) with an exit from the Reds but any move has so far failed to materialise.

Now an enquiry from [Championship](https://www.efl.com/clubs-and-competitions/sky-bet-championship/league-table/) side AFC Bournemouth could give the Welsh full-back an opportunity to play regular first-team football.

According to a report from the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neco-williams-could-leave-liverpool-22921510), as cited on [Twitter,](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC/status/1487729907463557120) the South Coast club have ‘contacted’ the Reds regarding the possibility of loaning Williams until the end of the season.

The report claims that the [17-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neco-williams/nationalmannschaft/spieler/503680/verein_id/3864) ace has ‘cut short a break in Dubai’ in order to discuss options ahead of the deadline.

This season Williams has made [eight appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neco-williams/leistungsdaten/spieler/503680) for Jurgen Klopp’s side across all competitions – providing two assists in the process.

Valued at £7.2million and under contract on Merseyside until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neco-williams/marktwertverlauf/spieler/503680)), Liverpool will know they have a valuable asset on their hands in the Welshman.

Whilst the club are believed to be ‘open’ to sanctioning the loan departure, in the long-term the Reds will want to obtain maximum value from their [academy graduate](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neco-williams/transfers/spieler/503680).

Further exposure at the senior level and indeed a strong finish to the [2021/22 campaign](https://www.skysports.com/championship-fixtures) could help to put Williams in the shop window and perhaps attract summer suitors.

Another youngster in the shape of [Conor Bradley](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/academy/player/conor-bradley) will likely be the new understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Elsewhere, there could also be exits for Nat Phillips, [Takumi Minaino and Divock Origi](https://theathletic.com/news/liverpool-to-consider-permanent-offers-for-divock-origi-and-takumi-minamino/xBkxhBCWmkYm/) as the 11pm deadline looms.
