# Virals: Liverpool ‘stepping up’ pursuit for Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/20/virals-liverpool-target-ousmane-dembele-has-to-leave-immediately/) are reportedly ‘stepping up’ their pursuit of Fulham starlet [Fabio Carvalho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/14/virals-liverpool-have-shown-an-interest-in-fulham-starlet-fabio-carvalho/).

The Reds have often been [named amongst the leading protagonists](https://www.teamtalk.com/fulham/fabio-carvalho-transfer-agreement-fear-liverpool-tottenham-target-exclusive) to land the 19-year-old and are once again at the forefront of speculation.

Out of contract in the summer and already a first-team regular in London, Tottenham, Leeds and [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/20/virals-west-ham-starlet-goncalo-cardoso-set-for-loan-switch-to-real-betis/) are all in the mix to sign the attacking midfielder.

However, according to a report from [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool-transfer-mission-carvalho/), as cited by [Pete O’Rourke](https://twitter.com/SportsPeteO) on Twitter, the Anfield club are preparing to move forwards with their chase.

That news has been met with glee from one Kopite as [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/liverpool/michael-edwards-parting-gift-huge-champ-talent-signing-cheap-deal-exclusive) claims a deal for the [England Under 18 ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/nationalmannschaft/spieler/559263/verein_id/31269) could be struck for just £5million.

This season Carvalho has scored [seven times and provided two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263) in 16 Championship outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £3.15million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/marktwertverlauf/spieler/559263)), spending the mooted £5million to get the deal over the line immediately would be a no-brainer.

Whilst the Portugal-born youngster will be available as a free agent in a matter of months, Liverpool would still be required to pay a ‘significant compensation fee’ in a similar mould to the [deal](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/feb/11/liverpool-to-pay-fulham-record-fee-for-harvey-elliott-after-tribunal-ruling#:~:text=Liverpool%20to%20pay%20Fulham%20record%20fee%20for%20Harvey%20Elliott%20after%20tribunal%20ruling,-This%20article%20is&text=Fulham%20will%20receive%20a%20record,4.3m%20for%20Harvey%20Elliott.) that saw Harvey Elliott become a Red.

Capable of playing in a [variety of attacking positions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/559263), Carvalho would fit the bill of recent captures as well as being a welcome addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad and perhaps even a surprise star at the business end of this season.
