# Virals: Liverpool ‘still interested’ in attacking Premier League duo

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/24/darren-bent-lauds-fantastic-liverpool-forward-diogo-jota/) are reportedly ‘still interested’ in two attacking Premier League stars as the January transfer window approaches.

Despite maintaining a strong league position as well as qualification for the knockout phase of the Champions League and the [semi-final of the Carabao Cup](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59662105), the Reds are expected to delve into the market in the near future.

As key duo Sadio Mane and [Mohamed Salah](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/16/virals-liverpool-monitoring-wolves-full-back-rayan-ait-nouri/) prepare to head to the Africa Cup of Nations, at present, Jurgen Klopp could be forced to utilise lesser-seen options from the current crop.

According to a report from the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-jarrod-bowen-breaking-22570168), as cited by [LFC Transfer Room](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom) on Twitter, Liverpool are keen on West Ham star Jarrod Bowen and Leeds United forward Raphinha.

The report claims that both are being ‘assessed’ by the [Anfield hierarchy](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/michael-edwards) but a mid-season move is deemed as unlikely due to being ‘little appetite’ to spend in January.

So far this season Bowen has [scored five times and registered seven assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdaten/spieler/314875) in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Brazilian star Raphinha has [directly contributed to nine goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdaten/spieler/411295) in 16 Premier League outings.

Both aged 25 and both with [similar top-flight records](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vergleich/spielervergleich/statistik/def/spieler/314875&411295) thus far, either man arriving on Merseyside would offer a huge boost to the attacking ranks available to Klopp.

Predominantly operating from the right-wing – otherwise known as Mohamed Salah’s position – Bowen and Raphinha have [played from the left](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/411295) as well as central roles.

Whilst the [five-cap Brazil ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/nationalmannschaft/spieler/411295/verein_id/3439) possesses a slightly high goal threat, Bowen’s [work rate and endeavour](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/march/08-march/jarrod-bowen-our-performance-levels-and-work-ethic-are-there) would be perfectly suited to a Klopp led side.
