# Virals: Liverpool ‘still pushing’ to sign Fulham ace Fabio Carvalho

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/31/virals-liverpool-are-favourites-to-sign-epl-star-youri-tielemans/) are reportedly ‘still pushing’ to sign Fulham attacking midfielder [Fabio Carvalho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/31/virals-liverpool-fans-delighted-as-great-transfer-news-emerges/) before the transfer deadline day.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is [highly rated across Europe](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10455195/Liverpool-enquiry-Fabio-Carvalho-turned-away-Fulham-desperate-him.html) and the Reds were hoping to steal a match on their competition in the January window.

However, the deal is a complicated one to complete as the [Championship table-toppers](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table) wish to keep the England youth ace in order to maintain their promotion charge.

According to a report from [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12529377/fabio-carvalho-liverpool-still-pushing-to-sign-fulham-and-england-youth-international-forward), as cited on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1488099688276447232), the Anfield club continues in its attempts to make a deal happen.

The report claims that Liverpool ‘remain in the hunt’ for the [six-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/nationalmannschaft/spieler/559263/verein_id/31269) Under 18 starlet and will look to complete the deal to avoid the need for a compensation tribunal.

This season Carvalho has [scored seven times and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263) in 18 Championship appearances.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £3.15million and out of contract at the end of the season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/marktwertverlauf/spieler/559263)), paying the mooted £5million for the Portugal-born ace would represent a shrewd deal.

Albeit the case that Carvalho will be available to move as a free agent in a matter of months, previous [problems when signing Harvey Elliott](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-fulham-harvey-elliott-compensation-fee-scott-parker-b919673.html#:~:text=The%20Professional%20Football%20Compensation%20Committee,team%20appearances%20and%20international%20recognition.) would suggest both clubs would want to avoid a tribunal over a fee.

Should Liverpool indeed get this one over the line, Jurgen Klopp would be adding a supreme talent to the ranks with [all the attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/401385/Show/Fabio-Carvalho) required to succeed at the very top level.

This all comes as current Reds’ forward Takumi Minamino [reportedly](https://twitter.com/neiljonesgoal/status/1488058784228515844) opts to stay on Merseyside despite links with a move away.
