# Virals: Liverpool ‘strongly’ linked with Federico Chiesa

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/27/virals-concern-on-social-media-as-thiago-is-spotted-on-crutches/) have once again been linked with a move for Juventus forward [Federico Chiesa](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/02/virals-florian-plettenberg-confirms-liverpool-made-federico-chiesa-bid/).

The Reds were initially [linked](https://talksport.com/football/917921/liverpool-transfer-news-federico-chiesa-juventus-italy-euro-2020/) with one of the stars of the European Championships during the summer.

However, no move was forthcoming as the Old Lady [reportedly](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/438880-juventus-reject-liverpool-s-100m-chiesa-bid) held out for in excess of £100million for the 23-year-old.

According to Italian outlet [Calcio Mercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/la-mega-offerta-gli-assalti-di-liverpool-e-bayern-ecco-cosa-sta--65876), as cited by [Liverpool FC News](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC/status/1442197977020383232) on Twitter, the Anfield club could face fierce competition for the ace.

The report claims that Premier League title contenders and current champions of Europe, Chelsea, are believed to be weighing up a move for the [33 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/nationalmannschaft/spieler/341092/verein_id/3376) star.

Meanwhile, it’s stated that Liverpool retains a ‘strong interest’ in the current Juve [loanee](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/transfers/spieler/341092).

Chiesa scored twice during Italy’s successful summer and earned an [average Sofascore rating of 7.06](https://www.sofascore.com/player/federico-chiesa/845386) in the process.

So far this season the man hailed as [‘outstanding’](https://sportbild.bild.de/bild-plus/bundesliga/vereine/bayern-muenchen/bayern-muenchen-julian-nagelsmann-im-klartext-interview-77045498,view=conversionToLogin.sport.html) by Julian Nagelsmann has netted [one goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/leistungsdaten/spieler/341092) in five Serie A outings.

Signing Chiesa looks to be a complicated operation with many moving parts given the impending [£34.3million obligation to buy](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12961/12091085/federico-chiesa-juventus-sign-fiorentina-forward-on-loan) at the end of the season.

Valued at £63million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/marktwertverlauf/spieler/341092)), Juventus are certainly landing themselves a bargain deal.

Already boasting a [trophy-laden](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/erfolge/spieler/341092) young career, Chiesa is an [immensely versatile](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/341092) operator with an abundance of quality.

That versatility and [key attacking attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/322971/Show/Federico-Chiesa) would make the Italian a worthwhile, if unlikely, signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
